working class poetry // punk rock performance

Apr. 27, 2015

I've always been rather terrible at keeping a blog. Doesn't matter what the platform - Xanga, MySpace, Live Journal, Blogger, Tumblr - I've used them all, and inevitably drifted away from ever posting anything. But from what I'm told, if you're an author and you don't maintain a blog regularly, NO ONE WILL EVER REMEMBER YOU AND YOUR WORK WILL GO FORGOTTEN FOREVER AND EVER AMEN. Or something like that. So I'm trying. Once again.

Been plugging away at this 30/30 business, and while I'm a poem behind at the moment, I'm feeling alright. I'm excited to have fresh work to play with - to edit, to revise, to send out into the ether...my folder of poems was getting a little stale as of late. It's heartening to see fresh blood pumped in.

Over at Drunk In A Midnight Choir, we've been celebrating National Poetry Month all this month with spotlight poems by artists we dig. If you haven't done so yet, check 'em out!

Also, please read this gorgeous heart swell of a poem by Ocean Vuong today:

Be well. Take care of yourselves. Take care of each other - we're all we've got.
